As a way of empowering women through entrepreneurship, Php10,000.00 worth of livelihood kit was provided to 4Ps beneficiaries in Bauang, La Union via the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa Program of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 1.

This is a pilot collaboration activity of the DSWD Field Office 1 and DTI Region 1 in support to the improvement of the 4Ps beneficiaries’ quality of life.

Lorilyn N. Ulat (left photo) is one of the 14 beneficiaries who was overjoyed as she brought home loads of grocery items for sale in her small variety store in Brgy. Santiago. “Sobrang tuwa ko dahil may pandagdag na ako sa laman ng aking store. Hindi ko na kailangang mangutang. Palalaguin ko ito para hindi mapunta sa wala ang naibigay na tulong sa akin. Mag-iipon ako kahit tig Php5.00 kada araw para sa ibang gastusin gaya ng aking business permit (I am very glad because I now have additional items for sale in my store. I do not need to borrow money anymore. I will flourish it so that the help that was given to me will not be put into waste. I will save at least Php5.00 a day for other expenses like processing of business permit),” Lorilyn said.

DTI Regional Director Grace Baluyan shared, “I am glad that our Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa Program is helpful to 4Ps beneficiaries in improving their lives and be at pace in development.”

Mayor Menchie De Guzman reminded the beneficiaries to value the love and trust given to them. This must be their way of giving back to DSWD Field Office and DTI Region 1.
