A. GOVERNMENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (GIP)

I. Program Overview

Government Internship Program (GIP) is one of the components of the Kabataan 2000 with the end goal of instilling a sense of community service and volunteerism for the less privileged youth in the society. This is also an opportunity that will provide life skills learning in the workplace at the same time earn money to augment their daily sustenance and future school needs.

II. Projects/Services/Activities/Modalities

GIP participants are assigned in various stations according to their assessed skills. The work includes regular office work such as encoding, report writing and / or assisting in the implementation of key programs of DSWD such as Supplementary Feeding Program, Social Pension Program, Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and the like.

III. Target Beneficiaries

18-25 years old, out of school youth, in good health condition, the monthly income of participant shall not be more than the existing poverty threshold

IV. Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a member of the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP)

B. IMMERSION OUTREACH PROGRAM (IOP)

I. Program Overview

IMMERSION OUTREACH PROGRAM (IOP)which aims to instill a sense of volunteerism and community service to the less privileged youth of the society. The youth participants will be given the opportunity to perform office work to support the implementation of DSWD programs and services,  and render service in communities where DSWD programs or projects are implemented in partnership with the local government units.

II. Projects/Services/Activities/Modalities

  • assist in the organization of the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines and conduct activities related to such; 
  • assist in the implementation of retained DSWD programs and services;
  • assist in caring clients inside DSWD residential care facilities;
  • conduct educational, recreational, social and sports activities in the residential care facilities and in the community;
  • assist in the relief and rehabilitation activities for disaster-affected families temporarily placed in evacuation centers, and resettlement areas.

III. Target Beneficiaries

18-25 years old, out of school youth, in good health condition, the monthly income of participant shall not be more than the existing poverty threshold
