The Local Government Unit of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte formally accepted the case folders of 31 household beneficiaries (eight graduating and 23 exiting households) during the Pantawid Pamilya Graduation Ceremony, the first in the province.

Ilocos Norte 4Ps Provincial Link Ronald V. Punio (in mustard) hands in the case folders of household beneficiaries to Mayor Benemerito (left photo). The latter also awards Katibayan ng Pagkilala and tokens to the household beneficiaries witnessed by MSWDO Guzman (in black) and PSWDO Rin (in white, right photo.)

The turn-over of case folders from the DSWD Field Office 1 signifies the provision of needed programs and services by the local government to achieve the desired progress of the household beneficiaries. Mayor Rafael Ralph L. Benemerito told the household beneficiaries, “As stipulated in Republic Act Number 11310 or 4Ps Act, be assured that the Local Government of Pagudpud, with its programs and services, will continue the gains of the Program. We will not leave you alone. Let us work hand-in-hand in order for us to continue and sustain what the 4Ps has started.”

During the graduation ceremony, Mayor Benemerito, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Raquel Isidora D. Guzman, and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Corazon Lilian Celia C. Rin signed the comprehensive sustainability plan of the local government. The sustainability plan contains various strategies of the local government in delivering the lined up programs and services to the household beneficiaries to improve their level of well-being.

“Ang 4Ps ang naging tungkod naming at nagbigay ng determinasyon para maigapang ang pag-aaral ng aming mga anak na pinaniniwalaan naming mag-aangat sa amin sa hirap ng buhay (4Ps served as our wooden cane that gave us determination to hurdle our support to our children in finishing their education which we believe will redeem us from poverty),” shared Josefina Bareng from Brgy. Burayoc.

The exiting and graduating household beneficiaries were identified by the City/Municipal Links based on 4Ps Act. Graduating household beneficiaries have reached self-sufficiency level of well-being. A household beneficiary shall exit from the program when they meet any of these criteria: the last monitored child turns 19 years old or finishes high school; reaches 7-year duration in the program; no longer poor based on Listahanan result; voluntarily waives from the program; and commits offenses leading to delisting.
