Five hundred Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries in San Juan, La Union received slippers and rice courtesy of Rated K Host Korina Sanchez. Pantawid Pamilya children ages 7-13 went home with smiles on their faces while wearing their new pairs of slippers. Their mothers were also given 3 kilos each of rice and bracelet.

San Juan Mayor Ruben L. Valero Jr. requested Ms. Sanchez to conduct such activity in the municipality and target Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries as recipients. All the 42 barangays were well represented but only selected Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries were called.

According to Ms. Sanchez, this is one way of thanking the public for being a part of her success in her personal life and career. She and her husband, DILG Secretary Mar Roxas, are celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary. She is also grateful of Rated K’s 10th year and her fourth year as a news anchor on TV Patrol.

This is a personal advocacy of Ms. Sanchez on helping the disadvantaged. She wants to give back the support of the people to her and her husband by spreading the Tsinelas Campaign of Rated K in different parts of the country and giving rice to the mothers.  (by: Jaesem Ryan A.
