DSWD Field Office-1 is ready to respond relief augmentation request  by Local Government Units (LGUs) with the prepositioned 2,300 relief packs worth Php 576,610.00 at the Provincial Operation Offices in Laoag City, Vigan City and Dagupan City.

As a reminder from Dir. Marcelo Nicomedes J. Castillo, areas vulnerable for isolation or remote areas, could request for prepositioned relief goods.

DSWD FO1 maintains stockpile worth at least Php 2 million at the warehouse located at the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY). This includes relief packs, ready- to- eat food and non-food items. These are ready to be distributed to requesting LGUs as an immediate response during calamities/disaster.

Also, DSWD FO1 maintains around Php 6.1 million worth of non-food items such as clothing, blankets, bedsheets, basin, water jugs, foot wear, hygiene kits, among others.

In partnership with the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC) and its counterparts at the LGUs, DSWD continues to employ a faster and bolder response to disaster.

On the other hand, DSWD FO1 provided assistance to 51 fire victims in Sual, Pangasinan and in coordination with the LGU, 51 core shelter units will be established in their identified settlement area.  ( by: Iryn D. Cubangbang, Information Officer II)
