On its 64th Anniversary celebration, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 1 honored all its active partners and stakeholders in the delivery of coordinated social protection programs and services for the poor. DSWD celebrated its anniversary with the theme, “DSWD @ 64: Tuloy ang Pagbabago at Pag-unlad” at the Hotel Ariana, Bauang, La Union on 18 February 2015.
In their Filipiniana attire, all the awardees received their certificate of recognition as DSWD’s token for their valuable contribution and continuous support to the development thrusts of the Department.
DSWD recognized the following Local Government Units for regularly conducting City/Municipal Advisory Committee (C/MAC) meetings for CY 2014: Pozorrubio, Bani, Binmaley, Malasiqui, Dasol, Aguilar, Anda, Bolinao, Alaminos City, Infanta, Mabini, Mangatarem, Burgos, and Bugallon in Pangasinan; Burgos, Naguilian, San Gabriel, Bauang, Rosario, Santol, and Luna in La Union; Bacarra, Pinili, and Laoag City in Ilocos Norte; and Cabugao, Ilocos Sur.
C/MAC meetings are conducted to address priority socioeconomic needs of the Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries.
DSWD also recognized LGUs that helped the disadvantaged families particularly the Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries through their own programs and projects included in the Municipal or City Transition Plan to pool in resources and expertise towards the improvement of the lives of the poor families through Convergence Strategy.
In the Search for LGU Convergence Champion, the City Government of Laoag (City Category) and LGU Laoac (Municipal Category) are the winners who were also awarded with plaque and cash prize of P30,000.00 each.
Meanwhile, Gay Myrell Abrogena of Pinili, Ilocos Norte and a grantee of the Student Grants-in-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation (SGPPA) was also awarded with a certificate of recognition for bringing honor and pride to DSWD being a passer of the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).
