With the theme “Matatag na Ugnayan, Maunlad na Sambahayan,” Local Government Units (LGUs), Civil Society Organizations, LandBank of the Philippines, and Media Partners were recognized by the DSWD Field Office 1 during the 4Ps Partnership Summit of their remarkable and unceasing contributions leading to the successful implementation of the program in Region 1.
During the summit, the partner stakeholders expressed their commitment in continuously improving delivery of service to all 4Ps household beneficiaries through writing their messages on the colored hand papers which symbolize unity in achieving shared goal – to improve the level of well-being of all 4Ps household beneficiaries. The colors symbolize diversity in office mandates, beliefs, and opinions but chose to work together to steer the 4Ps household beneficiaries out of poverty.
Meanwhile, the LGUs entered into Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on 4Ps Data Sharing to affirm and reinforce their commitment in continuously providing optimum and timely service. The MOA shall hasten the process of providing the list of 4Ps household beneficiaries who are in need of complementary programs and services from the LGUs. This will help the Department in providing appropriate and timely intervention to 4Ps household beneficiaries to improve their level-of-wellbeing and prepare them on their eventual exit from the program.
Represented by the Ilocos Norte Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Corazon Lilian Celia C. Rin, Governor Matthew Joseph Marcos Manotoc defined 4Ps as a collective work of committed program implementers, partner stakeholders, and beneficiaries. Emphasizing that partnership between the DSWD Field Office 1 and the
LGUs is a clear demonstration of building bridges to overcome poverty in the country. This is seconded by Ilocos Sur Governor Jeremias C. Singson saying, “Let us make oneness our weapon in realizing our mutual desire and shared compassion that no one will be left behind.” La Union Governor Raphaelle Veronica Ortega-David posted a challenge of unification as she said, “Kung dito sa La Union ay may Probinsyanihan, tayo lahat ay maki-Sambahayanihan para sa mas maunlad na sambahayan (If La Union has Probinsyanihan [unity within the province], let us all work together for a more improved [4Ps] household).” Call for convergence was also the depth of the message of Pangasinan Governor Ramon Guico III delivered by Consultant on Political and Social Development Mark Roy Quinto Macanlalay, “Ang Partnership Summit na ito ay tanda at patunay lamang na ang bawat isa sa atin ay naghahangad na higit pang mapag-ibayo ang serbisyo publiko sa lahat ng pamilyang lubos na nangangailangan ng tulong (This Partnership Summit is a testament that each one of us is aiming to intensify public service for all families in dire need).”
4Ps Division Chief Rosalyn L. Descallar proudly shared the accomplishments of 4Ps in Region 1. She enumerated the achievements of 4Ps household beneficiaries in striving to uplift their level of well-being through engaging to different activities relative to education, health, family, and community participation. She highlighted the vital contributions of partner stakeholders in realizing these accomplishments. Lastly, Ms. Descallar encouraged everyone to work in unison to rewrite the stories of 4Ps children beneficiaries.
In ending, DSWD Field Office 1 Assistant Regional Director for Operations Marlene Febes D. Peralta said, “We owe the successful implementation of the program– to you, our partners. Your optimum delivery of social services is a manifestation of your care and love to the vulnerable sectors. Continue serving alongside with us.” (by: Jaesem Ryan A.
