Region 1 was severely affected by Tropical Depression (TD) “Crising” and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon, resulting in widespread flooding due to continuous heavy rains. As of the latest report, around 162,737 families were affected, mostly in Pangasinan.

DSWD FO 1 Regional Director Marie Angela S. Gopalan during the distribution of Family Food Packs (FFPs) to affected families in Bauang, La Union.

In response, the DSWD Field Office 1 – Ilocos Region (DSWD FO 1), as the lead agency of the Food and Non-Food Items (FNFI) Cluster, released a total of 15,337 FNFIs to affected Local Government Units (LGUs) for distribution to families across the region.

Meanwhile, DSWD FO 1 has prepositioned sufficient stockpiles in one regional, two satellite warehouses, and 16 active Relief Prepositioning Areas, totaling 85,304 FNFIs, to promptly respond to requests of LGUs and support affected families and individuals.

DSWD FO 1 continues to closely coordinate with LGUs and monitor the situation to assess needs and deliver timely and appropriate assistance.

DSWD remains committed to its mandate of providing immediate assistance to individuals and families affected by disasters. In addition to addressing the impacts of TD “Crising” and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon, FO 1’s Incident Management Teams in different provinces are also actively preparing for the possible effects of TD “Dante”, which may further intensify the Southwest Monsoon and bring additional rainfall to Region 1.
