The ultimate dream of all board takers is to pass the examination. However, for Alden Lloyd Moskito, he strongly believes that passing the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) is his ticket to break the chain of poverty tied in his family.

All the stars aligned as he declared “LET me go!” coming from his family’s experience on the fangs of poverty. He now has full confidence in owning a bright future ahead as he held unto this manifestation.

Armored with prayers and determination, Alden was unshakable and triumphantly conquered the LET in September 2024 with flying colors landing in the third spot.

“One of my encouragement to myself when I took the LET was the support of my family. They instilled in me how blessed we are because of 4Ps that provided strength to my family to keep going to reach where I am now,” Alden shared.

Alden graduated Magna Cum Laude at Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – North La Union Campus in 2024 with the degree Bachelor of Science in Education Major in Mathematics.

Formerly a 4Ps beneficiary in 2012, Alden’s family in Bangar, La Union experienced the program’s transformative impacts in their life and empowered them to rise above poverty. Alden grew up in a humble family of farmers. His parents Camilo and Alce toiled as farm laborers, working as tobacco harvesters, rice planters, and cutters just to make ends meet and send their five children to school. Without a land of their own, they faced constant economic uncertainty. Despite these challenges, Alden’s family remained steadfast in their commitment to education.

“4Ps was more than just financial assistance. It was a lifeline that fueled my determination to succeed”, Alden relayed.

The Family Development Sessions (FDS) conducted under the program played a vital role in shaping the family’s outlook. These sessions emphasized the importance of education and instilled values of resilience, discipline, and community service. Alden’s parents were especially inspired by what they learned from the FDS, which reinforced their commitment to prioritizing their children’s education.

The success story of the Moskito family does not end with Alden. He was determined to follow the footsteps of his older sister. So, he gave it all in excelling even further in his studies and served as a role model for other 4Ps beneficiaries. Almira graduated Cum Laude at the same university and degree. She also benefited from the Expanded Students’ Grants-in-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation (ESGP-PA). This support played a crucial role in helping her pass the board examination and achieve her dream of becoming a teacher.

Alden now embodies the transformative power of education. “As a professional teacher, I dedicate myself to molding young minds, giving back to the community that shaped me”, he commits. Alden’s journey to a better life serves as a beacon of hope for 4Ps beneficiaries, proving that with the right support and determination, dreams can be realized. (by: Jaesem Ryan A.
