The partnership among the DSWD Field Office 1 (DSWD FO 1) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Municipal Operations Office (MOO) of Solsona, Ilocos Norte; the Local Government Unit through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO); and Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center (MMMH&MC) in Batac City, Ilocos Norte paved way to the the first-ever 4Ps Blood Bank dubbed as “Pantawid Buhay: 4Ps Bloodletting Drive”. This initiative of the 4Ps MOO bolsters the commitment to save lives through maintaining enough blood supply and creating significant impact on public health among 4Ps household beneficiaries.

This pioneer 4Ps Blood Bank is situated at the MMMH&MC and is ready to cater 4Ps household beneficiaries in Solsona, Ilocos Norte who are in need of blood transfusion.

A total of 89 active 4Ps household members from the 22 barangays of Solsona served as blood donors recognizing the value and health benefits of this heroic act. Such is a clear manifestation of genuine compassion to their fellow beneficiaries, community participation, resiliency, and capability to ensure health security for the future.

Pantawid Buhay will be on its second cycle on October 2024 wherein other 4Ps beneficiaries are encouraged to support this movement by donating blood. (by: Jaesem Ryan A. Gaces, Information Officer)
