“I am a proud 4Ps beneficiary!” This is how Adrian F. Mamuyac, 26, proudly claimed upon sharing his journey as a 4Ps beneficiary in Barangay Namboongan, Sto. Tomas, La Union.

In 2022, Adrian finished Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration Major in Accounting.  He passed the Philippine Coast Guard Aptitude Battery Test that same year and has been employed with the force that ever since. To date, he is working at the Philippine Coast Guard.

Climbing the ladder of success was no easy feat. At such a young age, Adrian experienced adversities. Buena, his mother, is the sole provider of the family. Back then, she worked as an in-house helper earning PhP4,000.00 monthly. This meager income is allotted for their daily needs, education, and their father’s medication.

In 2012, Mamuyac Family was registered to the 4Ps which has provided Adrian’s education and health needs. Adrian was in high school at that time. Given such a great opportunity, he focused his energy on excelling academically because he believed that obtaining a college degree would open endless possibilities for him and his family.

When Adrian graduated, both his parents felt that they also fulfilled their dream of finishing college, more so, being employed at the Philippine Coast Guard, which has been a great help for his siblings to finish their education, too. Progressively, he is now providing his family a comfortable life – the life they have always dreamed of.

He strongly believes that this journey from being a 4Ps beneficiary towards self-reliant citizen is a living proof that nothing is impossible to those who have hope, determination and perseverance in achieving greater heights. (by: Gloria Damocay, 4Ps Municipal Link)
