More than five million worth of Seed Capital Fund (SCF) was awarded by the DSWD Field Office 1 – Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) to qualified beneficiaries in Pangasinan. 355 SLP Program Participants from Urdaneta City, and Municipalities of Rosales, Bayambang, and Villasis, Pangasinan benefited from the SCF to establish their chosen livelihood or maintain their existing enterprise. 

DSWD Field Office 1 Regional Director Marie Angela S. Gopalan delivers her message to the SLP Program Participants.

DSWD FO 1 Regional Director Marie Angela reminds the participants, “Ang mga programa at serbisyo ng DSWD ay hindi panghabambuhay, isa na dito ang SLP na hindi lamang pagbibigay ng pera, ito ay may mga component ng pagtuturo at monitoring upang maisaayos ang inyong mga negosyo at mapalago ang inyong grant. Ang bawat isa sa inyo ay may kanya-kanyang responsibilidad sa mga natatanggap na tulong mula sa DSWD (The programs and services of the DSWD are not for life, one of them is the SLP which is not just giving money, it has training  and monitoring components to properly manage your businesses and grow your grant. Each of you has your own responsibility for the assistance received from the DSWD”.

Saimah received her grant will full of gratitude to the program.

“Masaya ako na mapasama sa programang ito hindi lang dahil sa puhunan bagkus sa oportunidad na madagdagan ang aming kaalaman sa pagpapatakbo ng aming mga hanapbuhay. Sana mapalago ng bawat isa sa amin na nakatanggap ang aming negosyo. Maraming salamat sa SLP dahil malaking tulong ito upang madagdagan ang kita namin ng aking asawa na tricycle driver (I am happy to be part of this program not only because of the grant but the opportunity to increase our knowledge in running our enterprise. I hope each of us can grow our business. Thank you very much for SLP because it is a great help in increasing my income with my husband who is a tricycle driver)”, Saimah S. Sultan gratefully uttered.

The program participants will be provided with intensive capability-building and constant project supervision to ensure that their enterprises are operational, growing, and expanding towards sustainability and will contribute to economic progress.
