DSWD staff is ready to receive in-kind donations and to assist walk-in clients in the Regional Warehouse.

DSWD Field Office (FO) 1 is accepting in-kind donations for the affected families and individuals brought by the Magnitude 7 earthquake. Donations and Help Desks are now open at the Regional Warehouse in Biday, City of San Fernando, La Union to accommodate in-kind donations.

Walk-in clients are also welcome to initially attend to the queries and concerns of the client.

The DSWD, as the social welfare and development arm of the government, ensures the quality of the donations received to maintain the dignity, health, and well-being of families affected by disasters. The Department reiterates that donation of used clothes is discouraged as stipulated in the Republic Act No. 4653. The DSWD shall adhere to the “no used clothing donation” policy. This is to support the local garment industry and to prevent health hazards which may be transmitted through used clothing.
