Super Woman, a strong anchor, and never gives up. These are among how the 4Ps women beneficiaries of Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan define their roles as mothers, wives, community member during the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) organized by the DSWD Field Office 1 – 4Ps Regional Program Management Office.
According to the FGD participants, the pandemic has been a challenge and at the same time an opportunity for them as an individual, and as a mother. Their source of income was extremely affected, thus, struggled to find other ways of earning money and augment the insufficient income of their husband which unfortunately, caused misunderstanding. However, on a positive note, paved way to having a quality time that the family spent together during the community quarantine. Now, they tend and understand each other better.
In line with the Women’s Month Celebration, the FGD is a way of acknowledging and appreciating the noble sacrifices of the 4Ps women beneficiaries in their everyday battle for their family’s welfare especially in this time of pandemic. Their shared experiences shall serve as a benchmark in developing Family / Youth Development Session (F/YDS) Modules that would help in strengthening family ties.
The FGD served as an avenue in processing the personal experiences of the women beneficiaries to unload them from emotional burdens.
“Hindi madaling magbahagi ng personal na karanasan sa iba. Nagpapasalamat po kami dahil ibinigay ninyo sa amin ang inyong buong tiwala. Marami po kaming natutuhan sa inyo. Higit sa mga pagsubok ay ang pagpapanitiling buo ang inyong mga pamilya sa kabila ng napakaraming pagsubok. Mas tatagan pa po natin ang ating sarili para sa ating pamilya at sa buong komunidad (It is not easy to share personal experiences to others. We appreciate you giving us all your trust. We learned a lot from you. More than the difficult circumstances is making sure that your families stay together despite the many challenges. Let us stay stronger for our family and the whole community)”, said DSWD FO1 – 4Ps Regional Program Coordinator. (by: Jaesem Ryan A. Gaces, Information Officer II / Pantawid Pamilya)
