Sustainable Livelihood Program staff of DSWD FO 1 does a finger heart during the virtual launching of the program’s 10th anniversary.

As part of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s 10th anniversary of its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), the said agency awarded DSWD Field Office 1 (FO 1) as Best Implementer for SLP Regular on 7 July 2021.

DSWD FO 1 was able to attain a 100% obligation on the 1st semester allocation for SLP regular implementation for C.Y. 2020.

SLP Regional Program Coordinator Chad Everrett Q. Llanes said that given the limited budget, the team strategized and was quick enough to prepare proposals and obligate funds. He mentioned that despite the restrictions in travel and threats of getting infected with CoVid-19, the team was always on the go to meet deadlines and ensure that services are timely delivered to its beneficiaries.

“This award only shows that we can always overcome whatever challenge arises as long as we do our job with love and passion,” Llanes added.

Meanwhile, Regional Director Marie Angela S. Gopalan who started her term last 1 April this year lauds the dedication of the region’s SLP staff and for practicing the good qualities of a DSWD employee despite the challenges brought by the Coronavirus pandemic.

“Makikita talaga kung paano naging masigasig ang ating mga SLP staff na kahit may pandemya, sinikap nilang maideliver ang ating target. Itong pagkapanalong ito ay testimonya na patuloy tayong dedicated sa pagtulong sa ating mga kababayan (We can see how our SLP staff became diligent in the delivery of our targets amidst the pandemic. This achievement is a testimony of our continuous dedication in serving our countrymen), said RD Gopalan.

The celebration of the said program’s 10th anniversary will last until the end of July wherein different activities such as tree planting and promotion of SLP success stories will be conducted simultaneously nationwide. (by: Radz Bismonte, Social Marketing Officer, Sustainable Livelihood Program)
