Center Head Leah Mylen Lucero presents to the Rotary Club the photo exhibit showcasing the programs, achievements, and milestones of RRCY.

The DSWD Field Office 1 – Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth celebrated its 41st Founding Anniversary with the theme: “RRCY @ 41: Paigtingin ang Bagong Pag-asa sa Makabagong Henerasyon ngayong Panahon ng Pandemya” to commemorate the accomplishments and successes of RRCY; reinforce the vision, mission, and intensify the goal of the Center; identify contributions of partner agencies in implementing programs and services; and promote the Center’s advocacy.

The anniversary celebration featured RRCY staff and residents who performed spoken word poetry, singing, and dancing depicting its evolution from 1980s to present. The presentations were prepared by participants for nearly two weeks to ensure the show will run smoothly. The activities strengthened the relationship of the employees and residents resulting in a more inclusive environment.

Throughout the years, the Center has changed and restored numerous Children-In-Conflict with the Law (CICLs) and continuously transforms their lives to the normal trends by engaging them to different activities and services of the Center and the Department in general. With the help of partner agencies, different offices, and the camaraderie of staff, the Center’s goal continues to be achieved.

The program was attended by Assistant Regional Director for Operations Marlene Febes Peralta, Regional Center Coordinator Grace Rendon, Bauang Mayor Menchie Lomboy – De Guzman, Mr. Deleo Hidalgo and Mr. Jay-ar Torida of the Rotary Club of San Fernando City North, Ms. Radjita Abuan and G. Ramon Crisostomo Jr. from the Local Government of Bauang, La Union. #(by: John Chris B. Zureta, Social Marketing Unit)
