Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya of the four provinces in Region 1 will meet hundreds of selected family-beneficiaries who will attend the Regional Pantawid Pamilya Family Day Celebration on 30 September 2017 at the Jose D. Aspiras Hall Gymnasium, Agoo, La Union.
These model families are the provincial winners during the Regional Search for Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya 2017. They are as follows: Mendoza Family from Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur-Regional Winner; Castañeda Family from Laoac, Pangasinan-First Runner Up; Galiste Family from Tubao, La Union; and Arimbuyoten Family from Batac City, Ilocos Norte-Third Runner Up.
They are proof that anybody can have a better chance at fighting the effects of poverty if they are given the opportunities and tools for human development.
The Mendoza Family will attend the National Pantawid Pamilya Family Day Celebration in Metro Manila on 1 October 2017 to receive recognition to be awarded by the Pantawid Pamilya National Program Management Office.
This year’s Pantawid Pamilya Family Day is celebrated with the theme Pamilyang Pilipino: Handang Tumawid sa Kaunlaran. The theme communicates the family-beneficiaries’ ability and confidence to cross poverty line, which is made possible by their own perseverance and through the different programs and services of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in convergence with its partner agencies.
Family-beneficiaries can avail free dental and medical consultation and services, spa services, and more. They will also enjoy games and raffle draws where prizes are at stake.
One of the highlights of the celebration will be the Renewal of Oath of Commitment by the participants to remind them of their responsibility in complying with the set conditions of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.
Pantawid Pamilya Family Day is annually commemorated to observe family ties among beneficiaries, socialize, and share with one another the successes and transformations in their lives brought about by the Program. (by: Jaesem Ryan A. Gaces, Information Officer II/Pantawid Pamilya)
