healthy habitTo refrain from sedentary lifestyle, DSWD Field Office 1 (FO 1) has introduced a  3 o’clock habit of dance moves cum stretching executed by its employees simultaneously done in the alleys of the 2-floor office.

Five minutes before the call-time, music is played over the built-in paging system, the Front Desk Officer announces the upcoming regular body moves which is also being anticipated by almost all the workers who have enjoyed the daily routine.

This healthy habit is among the packaged healthy lifestyle being performed in the Office under the leadership of Dir. Marcelo Nicomedes J. Castillo in coordination with Human Resource Development Unit and Medical personnel.

This new physical activity is added to the existing healthy lifestyle activities such as bowling, basketball, socio-cultural activities, and spiritual enrichment such as Thanksgiving Masses and Bible Study groups.

Director Castillo believes that having a healthier workforce improves performance, morale, and interpersonal relationships inside the working environment systems.

These activities are monitored and approved by the medical staff as to safety and appropriateness to physical conditions of every staff. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, weight, and other vital signs are also done by them. (by: Iryn D. Cubangbang, Information Officer II)
