The DSWD Field Office 1 continues its relief and response operations to victims of Typhoon “Lando” in Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan.

As of 8 PM of 18 October 2015, there were 1,262 families or 5,307 individuals affected from 61 barangays in Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan. There are also 20 evacuation centers catering to 578 families or 2,521 individuals in the said provinces.

The disaster operations will continue until all the relief requests of Local Government Units are well responded and the rehabilitation activities start through the leadership of Regional Director Marcelo Nicomedes J. Castillo.

The Agency has released 2,000 family food packs (FFP) from the prepositioned goods at satellite warehouse in Bani, Pangasinan to LGU Bolinao for fisherfolks whose means of livelihood were affected byTyphoon Lando.

Also, Rapid Disaster Assessment Needs Analysis (RDANA) was done by Quick Response Action Team (QuART) of Pangasinan in San Fabian, Mangaldan, Calasiao, and Dagupan City to gather the immediate needs of typhoon victims aside from food.

According to SWO IV Clarivel Banzuela who led the RDANA, local Social Workers on standby duty prepared hot meals through community kitchens in the evacuation centers. (by: Iryn D. Cubangbang, Information Officer II)
