The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 1 (DSWD-FO1) is currently scouting for family-beneficiaries who will be named Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya this year.
The search aims to recognize family-beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program who maintain strong family ties, demonstrate Filipino values, and have a positive impact in the community where they reside.
Municipal entries are currently undergoing validation. Validators from the Provincial Operations Office, partner agencies, and civil society organization visit the houses of the family-beneficiaries to look into their present situation, family and community relationship, cleanliness, community leadership/participation, moral values, and initiatives, among others.
The municipal contenders are as follows: Ilocos Norte – Budao Family from Adams, Palacay Family from Burgos, Fontanilla Family from Laoag City, and Archuela Family from Paoay; Ilocos Sur – Aquino Family from Suyo, Pico Family from San Esteban, Lano Family from Alilem, and Baltero Family from Santa; La Union – Zambrona Family from Santol, Rosal Family from Pugo, Galletes Family from Bacnotan, and Ramos Family from the City of San Fernando; and Pangasinan – Lambino Family from Dagupan City, Castro Family from Mapandan, Guiang Family from Urbiztondo, and Liwliwa Family from Bolinao.
Provincial entries will undergo regional validation. This is to ensure the documentations are correct and truthful and to acquire information not captured in the submitted documents/evidence.
Each province has four entries for the provincial level. Four provincial winners will advance to the regional level. Non winners will receive Php1,000.00 each. The regional winner will receive Php20,000.00 (first prize) and will compete in the national level for the chance to be the Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya 2015. The others will receive Php15,000.00 (second prize), Php10,000.00 (third prize), and Php5,000.00 (fourth prize).
Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya is an annual search conducted by the DSWD as a way of promoting Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program as a source of responsible and model families. These families shall be Program ambassadors, serve as resource persons in Family Development Sessions and any activity where they could share their knowledge and experiences, and help in the advocacy efforts of the Program.
