bayambang_02A Memorandum of Agreement sealed the partnership of DSWD and Kasama Ka sa Barangay Foundation Inc. (KKBFI) for entrepreneurial skills development of Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries in Bayambang, Pangasinan.

The partnership will provide various trainings maximizing the potentials of the beneficiaries, thus increased employment and job opportunities are its end goals. The KKBFI also tapped the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA), and the Department of Education (DepEd) as service providers.

After the completion of skills trainings, the Parent Leaders will be covered with a life insurance free of charge from Western Guarantee Corporation.

Pantawid Pamilya supporter KKBFI President, Dr. Cezar T. Quiambao, challenged the beneficiaries to find ways to improve their living by graduating from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program as this is not a permanent assistance from the government.

KKBFI President Quiambao mentioned that this public-private partnership contributes to the inclusive growth among the poor and marginalized individuals, giving them equal opportunities.

“With the concerted efforts of the agencies as well as the diligence and perseverance of beneficiaries, success is sustained in achieving self sufficiency,” Assistant Regional Director for Operations Marlene Febes D. Peralta said.

KKBFI is among the results of the partnership fora conducted by DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program to increase focus on improving Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries’ socio-economic status or self-sufficiency. (by : Iryn D. Cubangbang, Information Officer II)
