Secretary Corazon ‘Dinky’ Soliman solidified the confidence of the Pantawid Pamilya Parent Leaders on the stability of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program even after the term of President Benigno Aquino III.

This was the primary concern of the parent leaders (PLs) who were visited by Secretary Soliman in their training held at Palazzo de Laoag on June 10, 2014.

As Secretary Soliman mentioned, the observable results of the program or impact, the working systems, and goals of the program will sustain Pantawid Pamilya Pragram as planned despite changes in administration. The parent leaders were even reminded that the Program was embraced by the Aquino Administration from the previous with its noble purpose of keeping the children healthy and in-school.

Relatively, Secretary Soliman advised the PLs to continue being the ‘advisers’ on the immediate concerns of fellow beneficiaries. As such, they should also look into the processes in handling grievances (problems) and updates or changes in the information about the beneficiaries.

Along with the Family Development Session (FDS), a new module will be incorporated dubbed as ‘Pamilyang Pilipino Para sa Pagbabago.’ With this module, community involvement and social awareness will be intensified.

As current beneficiaries and parent leaders in their own communities, PLs are responsible both for the development wihtin their families and communities. ‘Kayo ang kasama sa paghuhulma sa kinabukasan ng inyong mga anak at mga pinamumunuan sa inyong komunidad,’ Secretary Soliman exhorted.

The PLs’ services are in the spirit of volunteerism. With these acts, Secretary Soliman urged them to continue with perseverance, rigor and vigor in reaching out fellow beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program. (by: Iryn D. Cubangbang, Information Officer II)
