DSWD highlights its role in establishing functional community kitchen to evacuees and camp management desk during the simulatneous Earthquake Drill held in San Manuel, Pangasinan recently.

Led by the National/Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (N/RDRRMC), the DSWD-Field Office 1 headed by Regional Director Marcelo Nicomedes J. Castillo, took part in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill held in Brgy. San Vicente, San Manuel, Pangasinan recently.

The activity gave emphasis in the implementation of all thematic areas in ensuring a safer, adaptive and disaster resilient communities in times of earthquake or any  inevitable catastrophic events.

With very important role, DSWD highlighted an established functional community kitchen, having fed 629 evacuees, as well as camp  management desk during the drill. Likewise, trained Social Workers provided Psycho Social Support Processing to the evacuees.

The RDRRMC sets down the expected outcomes, key activities/indicators and lead agencies implementing partners under mutually reinforcing thematic areas.

The said drill was held in partnership with various National Government Agencies, LGUs and other partners such as PhilVolcs, San Roque Dam Corporation and the LGUs of San Manuel, Tayug and San Fabian, Pangasinan. (by: Allan O. Lulu / Information Officer II, Pantawid Pamilya)
