Children and Youth in Need of Special Protection (CNSP)

This sector includes abandoned and neglected children, working children, street children, victims of commercial sexual exploitation, abused children, displaced children, children in conflict with the law, children with disabilities and children of indigenous cultural communities. This group includes children travelling abroad and children in armed conflict

Women in Especially Difficult Circumstances

This includes women 18-59 years old who are disadvantaged or marginalized, victims of illegal recruitment, involuntary prostitution, armed conflict, battering and abuse, as well as women in detention.

 

WHAT ARE THE SPECIFIC ROLES OF DSWD (Com-Based) IN RA 9262 IMPLEMENTATION?

Basically, SWO’s II are tasked to provide technical assistance to LSWDOs handling cases of women and children. However, on some cases especially those considered as high profile case SWOs II directly handle the case which starts with assessment of clients’ needs and counseling. Other direct services provided for clients are the following:

  1. Provide counselling services;
  2. Referral for legal, medical, and psychological assistance;
  3. Facilitate provision of financial or livelihood assistance
  4. Assist client in serving BPO, TPO, if necessary; and
  5. Assist client in filing appropriate charges
