Out of 177 remitting agencies of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) North Luzon Office, DSWD Field Office 1 was recognized as one of the five Top Performing Agencies. The Field Office is even more deserving of the award as two of its employees received four additional accolades.

Estrella N. Madayag holds the DSWD’s award as Outstanding Performing Agency as well as three of her own awards for Most Outstanding Officer.

In her 28th year of public service, Estrella N. Madayag, Administrative Officer IV and DSWD FO 1 Personnel Administration Section Head bagged three significant recognitions for the Calendar Year 2022 including Most Outstanding Electronic Remittance File Handler, Most Outstanding Principal Agency Authorized Officer, and Most Outstanding Liaison Officer.

As an Agency Authorized Officer (AAO) of FO 1, she functions as loan approver and partner of GSIS in the timely submission of member information. She’s also responsible for employing at all times the safety measure in the use, access, disclosure, and processing of employee information, as well as monitoring feedback and submitting any additional requirements promptly.

Emotions filled her heart upon receiving the recognition for she is one of the instruments of the agency in providing a “maagap at mapagkalingang serbisyo” not only to its beneficiaries but also to its employees.

“I feel inspired to do better in my job and fulfill my goal as the PAS Head and the Agency’s Authorized Officer — to ensure that all employees receive the benefits rightfully due for them on their retirement,” she shared.

Estrella’s diligent work was not the only service acknowledged by GSIS North Luzon but also the support of her co-staff, particularly Rhea R. Calix, OIC of the Human Resource Management and Development Division, who was named the Most Outstanding Alternate Agency Authorized Officer.

DSWD FO 1 Regional Director Marie Angela S. Gopalan said, “The DSWD prides itself in responding to the needs of partners and vulnerable groups. We are able to do what we do because there is a battalion of staff looking after our frontline workers. This recognition by the GSIS shows that our Human Resource Management and Development Division team is serious about caring for the carers. Congratulations!”

The GSIS North Luzon awarding aims to inspire other government agencies to a proper and early remittance of their premiums and loan payments. This was also done in time for the 86th Anniversary of GSIS. (by Kristine Sheila T. Amoroso, Regional Information Officer)
