In  response to relief augmentation request from various Local Government  Units due to monsoon rains and effect of Tropical Storm ‘Maring’, DSWD Field Office 1 has released 500  family food packs  to  Sugpon and   2,000 packs to Sta. Maria in  Ilocos Sur. Likewise, in Pangasinan, 500 family food packs for  Bugallon;  1,000 family packs  for Mangatarem;  1,000 for Aguilar;  and 100 for San Fabian, with a total amount of Php 1,414,434.00.

Each family food pack is composed of 3 kilos of rice, 6 canned goods,  6 pouches of noodles and 6 pouches of 3-in1 coffee. This  family food pack will respond to the immediate basic food needs of families affected while their regular activities are still dysfunctional.

The DSWD in partnership with PNP and Philippine Navy transported these family food packs to the said Local Government Units.

Likewise, the Quick Action Response Team (QUART) composed of DSWD staff  is still  activated for disaster monitoring of reports and repacking of family food packs done at DSWD Field Office 1 and Regional Warehouse  in Urayong, Bauang, La Union, respectively.

Likewise, the Social Welfare and Development Action Team in all provinces are on alert in providing technical assistance to LGU- Social Welfare Officers in  the affected areas.
