DSWD FO 1 heads, employees and NICA officials

The DSWD Field Office 1 (FO 1) and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) held a Speaker-Messenger Training to strengthen information campaign on the Executive Order (EO 70) series of 2018 in line with the government’s whole-of-nation approach to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) in the country.

Held this month at the Panlipunan Hall of DSWD FO 1, the training intended to foster dialogue, collaboration among NICA and different divisions of the Field Office in a way to achieve lasting peace for shared information campaign to end insurgency.

In her message, NICA Regional Director Mildred Abordo reiterated that strengthening the partnership of the agency and DSWD FO 1 will help propagate the information campaign on the whole of nation approach towards insurgency.

“Through the training, I believe that DSWD FO 1 can continuously strengthen its ability to insert the dialogue on whole of nation approach to end local communist and terror groups while informing clients the different programs and services of DSWD,” Director Abordo emphasized.

The director then underscored the importance of inclusive participation in addressing the problem of communist  armed conflict while stressing the need for a synchronized approach and effective contribution to nation-building.

In line with this, Community-Based Services Section (CBSS) Head Fe G. Sarmiento reassured NICA of continuous support to its mission of enlightening the public about EO 70.

“Malaking advantage ang speaker-messenger training na dinaluhan ng mga kawani ng FO 1 para sa tamang pag-conduct ng orientation patungkol sa local communist armed conflict upang matulungan din ang mga dating rebelde habang ang DSWD ay naghahatid ng mga programa at serbisyo sa komunidad (The participation of DSWD FO 1 employees to the speaker-messenger training is a great advantage for the proper conduct of orientation on the objective to end local communist armed conflict and assist former rebels while cascading programs and services to communities during DSWD activities),” said CBSS Head Sarmiento.

“Sa pamamagitan ng nasabing training ay natutunan ng mga kawani ng Kagawaran kung paano mapalakas ang engagement sa komunidad at lubos na maipaliwanag ang tungkol sa kampanya kontra sa insurhensya. Maliban dito, muling nabuhay at mas lalong tumibay ang partnership ng DSWD Field Office 1 at NICA (Through the conducted training, employees learned ways on how to improve engagement with the community and how to further inform them regarding the campaign towards insurgency. Aside from this, partnership between DSWD Field Office 1 and NICA became stronger),” CBSS Head Sarmiento added.

The EO 70 was issued by former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte which seeks to promote a whole-of-nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace in the country. (by: Jesslyn Keith B. Valite, Information Office I)
