Upang ipakita ang patuloy na pag-unlad ng mga programa ukol sa social protection at social welfare development, idinaos ng Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 1 – Ilocos Region (DSWD FO 1) ang Knowledge Fair 2025 ngayong December 5 sa Hotel Ariana and Restaurant, Paringao, Bauang, La Union. Dinaluhan ito ng mga development workers, mga lokal na opisyal ng iba’t ibang Local Government Units (LGU), katuwang na institusyon, gaya ng SWDAs mula sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng Rehiyon I, at mga kawani ng ahensya.

Ang Knowledge Fair ay nagsisilbing entablado para maibahagi ang mga pamamaraan, karanasan, at innovations na naging epektibo sa pagtugon sa mga hamon ng implementasyon sa paghahatid-serbisyo sa mga mamamayan.

Sa kanyang mensahe, pinuri ni DSWD FO 1 Regional Director Marie Angela S. Gopalan ang matatag na dedikasyon ng mga frontline workers ng social welfare sector. Binigyang-diin niya na malaking bahagi ng tagumpay ng mga programa ang kanilang tuluy-tuloy na serbisyo, kahit hindi ito palaging nabibigyang pansin ng publiko.

“Through the knowledge fair we can highlight that it is not enough to have compassion, but there is science and art in uplifting the lives of the marginalized and disadvantaged,” ani Director Gopalan.

Kaugnay nito ay buong pagkilala namang ibinigay sa bawat Local Government Units at Internal Offices sa kanilang patuloy na inisyatibong paunlarin ang mga programa at serbisyo na ibinibigay sa mga mamamayan ng Rehiyon Uno.

Ipinakita rin sa naturang fair kung paano ginagabayan ng datos, teknolohiya, at makabagong pag-iisip ang pagpapatupad ng mga interbensyon ng ahensya na patunay na ang social welfare work ay hindi lamang nakabatay sa puso at malasakit, kundi suportado rin ng siyensiya at matatag na sistema.Itinampok din dito rin ang unveiling ng Good Practices Documentation (GPD) and Innovative Poster Boards na nagpapakita ng kabutihang na naihatid sa buhay ng mga benepisyaryo sa komunidad.

Truly appreciate the guidance (DSWD FO1)…seeing the gallery walk, napakagandang makita ang kanilang mga pinaghirapan mga output na good practice documentation.” ito ang taos pusong pahayag ni Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer mula sa Manaoag na si Lynie F. Abar.

Kabilang din sa kaganapan ang Knowledge Sharing Sessions kung saan iprinesenta ng DSWD Field Offices mula sa CAR AT CARAGA ang kanilang best practices tulad ng Camp Management Plan at Knowledge Management Team.

Isinagawa rin ang Oath Taking Ceremony ng Elected Regional Officers para sa Area-Based Standards Network or ABSNet- ang siyang network ng social welfare and development agencies na binuo upang matiyak ang kalidad at standard-compliant ng mga naibibigay na serbisyo. Mula sa taong ito, ang ABSNet ay pangungunahan ni Pastory Daniel Joseph A. Eclarin mula sa Shekinah Home Dingras Ilocos Norte Inc.

Ipinahayag naman ni Assistant Regional Director for Operations Anniely J. Ferrer na ang bawat stratehiyang naisagawa ay malaking suporta sa social protection gayundin ang mas mausbong na pagbibigay ng dekalidad na serbisyo sa pamamagitan ng mga bagong opisyal ng ABSNet.

Ang Knowledge Fair ay taunang isinasagawa ng ng DSWD FO 1 na nagbibigay pagkilala sa mga stakeholders at good practices para sa pagpapabuti ng social protection services. Ito rin ay isang Knowledge Sharing mechanism na nagbibigay pagkakataon sa iba’t ibang mga katuwang na ahensya para makapagbigay ng kanilang mga ideya at strategies sa pagpapabuti ng pamumuhay ng vulnerbale communities.
