As the pandemic restrictions lower, DSWD Field Office 1 (DSWD FO 1) conducts its first face-to-face Information Serbisyo Caravan in Alcala, Pangasinan since the pandemic started.

The said caravan held on 26 May 2022 catered 75 participants from different barangays of Alcala, Pangasinan wherein the Social Marketing Unit discussed the programs and services of the agency. Mr. Frederick Jaramillo, Manpower Officer I of Disaster Response and Management Division (DRMD) also explained the programs and services under DRMD, including the contents of Family Food Packs, non-food items, volunteer works and other disaster response management matters. Medical consultation was facilitated by Human Resource and Welfare Section headed by Ms. Mary Grace Del Castillo, MD.; medicines and vitamins from the Department of Health Region 1 were also given. Financial assistance from Crisis Intervention Section worth PhP3,000 each beneficiary was also provided to the participants.

Virgilio Sayson of barangay Pindangan West of the expressed his gratitude towards the department. “Sa loob ng sampung taon na na-stroke ako, napakalaki ang naitulong ng mga ahensiya ng gobyerno tulad ng DSWD sa akin. Maraming salamat sa pagkakataong ito na marinig ang iba pang serbisyo ng DSWD (For the past ten years that I have been recovering from stroke, different government agencies, like DSWD, have helped me immensely. Thank you so much for this opportunity to hear about other DSWD programs and services),” he stated.

The Information Serbisyo Caravan was spearheaded by Social Marketing Unit. It aims to convey and inform the various programs of DSWD FO 1 to our different sectors.
