Pangasinan – DSWD Field Office 1, together with DSWD Undersecretary Aimee S. Torrefranca-Neri, distributed a total amount of PhP22,237,000.00  to some 4,657 beneficiaries that include market vendors, public utility jeepneys, tricycle, and boat operators and drivers; and patients and COVID-19 frontliners in Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) in Dagupan City.

The Undersecretary also conducted on-the-spot payout referrals from R1MC while having a monitoring visit in the Malasakit Center of the said medical center. Some residents including persons with diabilities also received financial assistance during Usec. Neri’s visit at  Dagupan City National High School.  Aside from financial assistance, all clients also received family food packs from the Department amounting to PhP21,928,000.00.

The Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) is the provision of integrated services to individuals and families in crisis or difficult situation through the Department’s Central Office/Field Offices’ Crisis Intervention Unit/Section and Social Welfare and Development Satellite Office. The integrated services under the program may be in the form of psychosocial intervention or direct financial and material assistance. Proper endorsement to other offices, centers, government agencies, and non-government organizations are likewise employed to ensure that the need(s) of the client will be fully served. #By: Henry J.
