Sessions 1 and 2 Training of Trainers with DSWD ARDO Marlene Febes Peralta and Listahanan Focal Person Anniely J. Ferrer

The back to back training for the Listahanan 2nd Round of Assessment was held at Kultura Splash Wave Resort, Pugo, La Union last 6-10 April 2015. Thirty-three newly hired Area Coordinators and 41 Regional Program Training and Monitoring Team (RPTMT) members from the Department of Social Welfare and Development – Field Office I were trained for five days to become trainers or act as resource persons for the Area Supervisors and Enumerators Training starting mid-April until May in the four provinces of Region I.

The Listahanan or National Household Targeting System for Proverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) is an information management system that identifies who and where the poor are. This internationally accepted targeting system is useful in identifying beneficiaries of social protection services from the government and private sectors.

DSWD-FO I Assistant Regional Director for Operations Marlene Febes D. Peralta welcomed the 2nd batch of Area Coordinators. She said, “As a field worker, you are there to bring services of the Department to the communities, to far-flung communities, therefore, you are the head, the heart, and the feet of the Department.”

Moreover, DSWD-FO I Regional Director Marcelo Nicomedes J. Castillo also visited the training of the trainers to share his insights. He stresed the importance of giving their best in doing their tasks since the future of the people that the government ought to serve lies on the results of this assessment. (by: Jaymante Pearl B.
